Octospora coccinea var. tetraspora

Hosts: Bryum subapiculatum (Bryum rubens agg.).

A 2019 collection by J. Norton in VC11 (South Hampshire) appears to be the first British record of O. coccinea var. tetraspora.

Apothecia on sandy acid soil. Host appears to be Bryum subapiculatum growing beside Ceratodon purpureus (itself parasitised by Octospor rubens). Headon Warren, VC10, Dec 2021
