Fungi associated with bryophytes in the British Isles
Bryoscyphus “rhombisporum” Baral nom. prov.
Hosts: observed in the British Isles of Thuidium tamariscinum, Hypnum cupressiforme and Lewinskya (Orthotrichum) affinis. Always on brownish host tissues. Perhaps this, plus the broad host range, indicates that the fungus is saprotrophic and / or opportunistic.
